The Croatian coast and its islands are characterized by a Mediterranean climate. In the summer, the mean temperature is between 24°C and 26°C along the coast, though the temperature can be a couple degrees warmer towards the south of the country.
The nation’s sunniest island is Hvar, with over 2,700 hours of sun per year, though the other islands and the southern coast around Dubrovnik can also boast of being very sunny. The coastal climate is also characterized by winds. The most frequent wind along the southern coast and islands is the “Mistral” wind, which is a pleasant, mid-afternoon breeze blowing from the sea towards the coast.
The Croatian currency is Euro, and no other currencies are accepted. However, just about all restaurants and shop accept credit and debit cards.
Our guided tours are virtually all-inclusive, so you will not need to carry much cash. You can exchange your money for Euro in authorized exchange shops in the hotels and near the hotels. There are also numerous ATMs, so you can withdraw Euros from the bank machine.

Most of our guests arrive by plane to Split and depart from Dubrovnik. If you wish to return back to Split or vice versa, you can hire a private shuttle, or take the bus or fast ship lines ( https://www.krilo.hr/en/sailing-schedule/ ).
We usually ride on secondary paved roads, with a low level of car traffic.
Our tours include an average of about 16 people, with a maximum number of 20. We have set these numbers to ensure that our tours are an opportunity for getting to know all the participants, and for new friendships.
Our tours allow you to decide how much you want to ride. Depending on the route you choose and your pace, most days include 3 to 5 hours of riding time. There are different levels of activity you can choose, from recreational (2-3 hours), to active (3-4 hours), to advanced (4-6 hours per day). Our tours are tailored for those who are reasonably fit.
We place no upper limit on age, as the main constraint is your fitness level.
Tours are not recommended for young children, however, children over the age of 14 are welcome to join our family groups.
Our tour guide cycles with you along the route. Our group is accompanied by a support van, which is there to assist for difficult climbs, or to allow you to combine riding with driving and sightseeing. Together, these guides ensure that riders of all levels can enjoy the routes.
We advise obtaining a travel protection plan with the following components: Coverage for medical expenses due to accidents or sickness related to a covered illness or injury, as well as protection against trip cancellation.
Lunch includes one meal of your choice from the menu, water and one beverage of your choice.
Dinner includes three courses: appetizer, main course, and dessert, with water and one beverage of your choice.
We offer meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan menus. There is also the possibility of a special meal for persons with celiac disease.
Our support van accompanies us on every ride, so you need not worry, anything you need with you for the day’s ride can be carried in the van.

All our trips are guaranteed to run.
Your driver will be waiting for you in the airport arrival hall, holding a sign with the name you provided during the booking process. Our drivers usually enter the arrival hall 15 minutes after the actual flight landing, allowing you sufficient time to clear customs and claim your luggage.
If you cannot locate your driver right away, please contact us or the driver by phone. Most airports offer free WiFi, allowing you to reach us via email as well. Our office manager will ensure the driver finds you promptly.

Our bicycles, including the one provided as part of the package at no extra cost, are in great condition and well-maintained. We encourage our guests to make the most of them, and for those seeking an even more enhanced cycling experience, our company also offers optional bike upgrades.
Alternatively, if you prefer, you can bring your own road bike. Please note the following guidelines: Additional charges apply for airport transfers, we do not handle the assembly or disassembly of bikes, and you are responsible for bringing your spare parts. Please be aware that our company is not responsible for any damage or loss of personal bikes and/or equipment that guests choose to bring.
We offer flat pedals. Flat pedals have no special grips and can be used with any type of footwear, and no special bicycle shoes are required (you can wear normal trainers). For those accustomed to special pedal systems, you are welcome to bring them and we will be happy to fit them to your bike.
Cycling Croatia Tours include basic pre and post-trip planning and support, to ensure you are always taken care of and that you never miss a thing. Our travel experts are here to help you with all stages of the planning process.
The package price does not cover tips for the guides. The usual rate is US$250 per person or US$500 per couple for a tour. Tipping is entirely optional and depends on your satisfaction with the level of care and service. There is no obligation to leave a tip in hotels, bars, or any other highlights organized by Cycling Croatia.
